TO KAIJU MISSION FIELD OFFICE: Re: Name Change

Subject: Mission Name Change

Dear Field Office Team,

Please be advised that moving forward, the public-facing repository and mission social media channels for Mission Kaiju_Love_Care_Futures_02026 will be known as The Kaiju Papers. This is for reasons above your pay grade that we will not elaborate on in a non-confidential document.

Trust that the purpose of this name change is to protect the mission. Your research mandate will not be impacted by this change. You are to continue exploring the lessons for humanity about love, collaboration, mutual trust, and anti-fascism offered throughout the Godzilla franchise. If anything, this name change will allow us to expand the research scope to other Kaiju media, as long as we continue to receive funding via paid subscriptions/board membership. NOTE: this is not a promise of continuation. Mission HQ reserves the right to shut this mission down at any time.

Your instructions are as follows:

  • Use any material with the old name (that we will not mention here) as scratch paper and do not distribute outside of the Field Office.
  • Please advise Dr. Tex to practice saying the new name before he attends Kaiju Brooklyn. We do not want him to cause an international incident.
  • While you are preparing your “zine,” (which I would like to note has not been sanctioned by Mission HQ) please be sure to use the correct name.

Again, the correct name is The Kaiju Papers. All mission assets will be retroactively updated, where possible. Members of the public will be advised to not worry about it. Anyone caught using the old name will receive a stern talking to.

Thank you. If you have questions, do not ask them.
