Dr. Tex is missing. No more Field Reports until we find or replace him.

STATEMENT: Regarding the Recent Inconsistency of The Kaiju Papers Field Office Team (Dr. Tex is Missing)

Dear Supporters of The Kaiju Papers,

It is with an administrative heart that I write to you to address the recent and ongoing inconsistency of our Field Office Team—specifically, of one Dr. Tex "Steve" Collins.

You may have noticed that some weeks have passed since the last Field Report was dispatched. (KAIJU FIELD REPORT No. 16)

This is due in part to the team focsuing on the launch of The Kaiju Papers Literary Magazine—of which we at Mission HQ are all very proud—and due in part to the fact that Dr. Tex "Steve" Collins has gone missing.

Initially, since Dr. Tex has a tendency to disappear into his own world for days at a time, we weren't ready to declare him missing. Now, though, after many unanswered carrier pigeons, faxes, and telepathic signals, we are sure that something is amiss. His colleagues, Dr. Dudley Cramblin, Mx. Julije Morrison, and Monty Turnigan (Chief of Mission, Political Analyst, and Research Assistant, respectively) are at a loss as to how to move forward. We have encouraged them to pen the next Field Report on their own, but they insist that they need Dr. Tex's "wit" (their words). We are aslo learning that Dr. Tex provided a structure and hierarchy to the Field Office that—being anarchists—the rest of the team refuses to engage in now that he's gone. In other words: they are highly disorganized and can't seem to manage a single deadline between them.

We are at an impasse. We regret to inform you that, until further notice, no Field Reports will be available until we (or the authorities) locate Dr. Tex. If members of the public wish to author a Field Report while we locate our Absolute Liability of a Principal Investigator, please reach out to us with a writing sample, a brief description of your political education, and the film about which you wish to write. Please note that we prioritize political analysis over film critique, and if selected, you will be working closely with Mx. Julije Morrison.

Board Members should not worry—postcards will be dispatched as normal.

Members of the public are advised to please report any Dr. Tex sightings to thekaijupapers@gmail.com. NOTE: If you see Dr. Tex in public, do not approach. We do not know enough about his mental state. We are not worried for his safety, but we would worry for yours.

In the meantime, The Kaiju Papers Literary Magazine is accepting submissions for the next issue, to be published in late October.

If any members of the public have concerns about the fidelity and quality of our team's research, I would refer you to our Research Methodology, which states:

A Note on Fidelity:
We reserve the right to change these approaches at any time.
Keen-eyed supporters of this mission might identify inconsistencies in our research approach. These detail-oriented sleuths should not be concerned: it is fine, do not worry about it.
We are allowed to do this because this is a fake (and also unfunded) research project that no one asked for, therefore:
1) We are accountable to no one (as of March 02026)
2) We like having fun

Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding. We are not accepting questions at this time.

Yours in Science,

Deputy Director Vera Rowen, PhD, MPH, JD, MA, Mission HQ
